Badaling Great Wall is located in Beijing Yanqing County, is the best well-repaired, the oldest open Great Wall in Beijing, and is also the most magnificent one among the Great Walls in Beijing.

Badaling is the Yanshan Mountains military's pass in the mountains, the mountains are overlapping with more dangerous mountain peaks, strategically located and difficultly situated, is always the place strongly contested by the soldiers. From "roads are seperated from here, extending in all directions, hence the name Badaling, is off the highest mountain" can be seen, the Badaling Great Wall is also known as one of the world nine plugs, becoming Juyongguan guard outpost.

Badaling Great Wall with the trend of the hills, winding ups and downs, like the dragon coiled. Its walls are tall and sturdy, the base of the whole section are built with a granite stone, each weighing half a ton, the top part of the walls are built by the big city bricks, and in which are filled with gravel and clods, top has been put cubes, flat and wide, either five or ten horses can drive on parallel. Great city stations ( there are two enemy units and stations ) are intensive, top to outlook, shooting, fireworks, the lower part for people to live, rest, storing weapons; beacon is an essential part of the Great Wall, there is one every five miles to ten miles, running smoke into the enemy combustible during the day and firing at night, quickly report to the commanding authority. Such a project could really move forward and attack, while retreat and defend.

Badaling Shuiguan Great Wall is an integral part of the Badaling Great Wall entire defense system and the most solid part to be saved. It is located in the ditch off the mountains, because of two mountains are on  both sides, a water flow through, so named "water off ". And the water also can resist the enemy, so it became an important port under the jurisdiction of the Badaling Great Wall.

At the valley ten miles away from the Badaling Great wall, a part of the Great Wall can be seen like a broken dragon entrenched in the mountains above, this is the remnant Badaling Great Wall. After nearly two thousands of years' ups and downs, broken walls are covered with weeds, showing the vicissitudes style, but history has left an indelible mark here.

In fact, boarding the Great Wall is not just for the phrase "not boarding Great Wall is not hero". On the magnificent Great Wall at Badaling, there are many memorable monuments which are admirable: "Live outside the town" East Wall;  "North gate lock and key" the West Side Station; magnificent north fifth floor, north eighth floor, south sixth floor built with homes and shops, cliffs engraved with the "natural barrier", different styles of watch tower ... ... The Badaling Great Wall is a miniature of the thousands of miles Great Wall, is an outstanding representative of the Great Wall. It is like a historical monument, inherites the spirit of the dragon, shines with Chinese people 's wisdom, and reveals the elegance of the Chinese nation to the people of the world.
