  • Forbidden City and the Tian’anmen Square are the most popular highligts in Beijing to foreigners. Your local guide will accompany you to visit the two attractions.
    - Forbidden City: Built from 1406-1420 during the Ming Dynasty, the Imperial Palace, popularly known as the Forbidden City, was the permanent residence of the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911). It covers over 720,000 square meters of floor space, with more than 8,700 rooms, surrounded by city wall as high as ten meters and a city moat as wide as 52 meters.
    - Tian'anmen Square: It is the largest city square in the world , representing symbol of China's national pride, surrounded by many grand buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entry to the Forbidden City), Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum.

  • After breakfast, transfer to visit the royal garden —Summer Palace. After lunch, have a Hutong rickshaw tour. Have a close view of the locals’ house and their life style.
    - Summer Palace: Occupying an area of 304 hectares, the Summer Palace features hilly and water scenery. The Kunming Lake makes up four-fifths of this royal park. The Long Corridor running east-west along the lake as well as the Pavilion of the Fragrance of Buddha, the Sea of Wisdom, and the Hall of Dispelling the Clouds and Suzhou Street standing south to north on the Longevity Hill are the major scenic spots.
    - Hutong Tours in Rickshaw: Hutong, a kind of alleyways featured in Beijing. Take a rickshaw tour around the Hutong. Your can a visit with a local family and have a close view of Bejing people’s daily life.

    Today's Highlights: Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses(include golf carts), Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower
    - Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses: The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Work is ongoing at this site, which is around 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum, Lintong County, Shaanxi province. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China.
    - Big Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda (7 floors,64.5meters high) where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
    - Bell Tower: It is the largest and best-preserved of its kind in China, is 36 meters (118 feet) high. Standing on top of the tower, you can have a bird's view of the city.

  • Your Tibet tour begins today. After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby and then tour around Lhasa. Today’s highlights cover: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

    - Potala Palace: Potala Palace in downtown Lhasa is a 41-hectare complex which came under construction during Songtsan Gambo's 7th-century reign. Consisting of White Palace and Red Palace, with nearly 10,000 rooms, it was where the Dalai Lamas lived and handled political affairs. Housed in this castle-like palace are a wealth of Buddhist statues, murals, religious scriptures, and treasures. As a precious legacy of Tibetan culture, the Potala Palace is a UNESCO-endorsed world cultural heritage site.
    - Jokhang Temple: Jokhong Monastery, built in 647 as the earliest wood-masonry structure in Tibet, is dedicated to a statue of Sakyamuni. It is also in the possession of a collection of cultural relics dating back to the Tang, which include statues of Songtsan Gambo and Princess Wencheng. Tang architectural elements are palpable in this monastery, a splendid four-floor building facing west under a gilded rooftop.
    - Barkhor Street: As the oldest street in Lhasa, the Barkhor Streey is also the center where Tibetaneconomy, culture, arts and religion are assembled.

  • Continue to explore Lhasa with the accompany of the local guide. Today you will visit Norbulingka Park, Drepung Monastery Sera Monastery and a carpet factory.

    - Norbulingka Park: Lingka in Tibetan means a beautiful place with trees and lawns, and Norbu means treasure. In addition to its beautiful environment, Norbulingka boasts many palaces, pavilions, various kinds of flowers as well as a lake and a zoo.

    - Drepung Monastery: Located at the foot of Mount Gephel, Drepung Monastery is one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. The other two are Ganden and Sera. Drepung is the largest of all Tibetan monasteries, and indeed at its peak was the largest monastery of any religion in the world. It was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Chojey, a direct disciple of Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelukpa school.
    - Sera Monastery: one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet.

    - Tashilunpo Monastery: the biggest Gelugpa monastery in the Tsang region of Tibet. . It was first built in 1447by Gedun Drup who is regarded as the first Dalai Lama
  • Day 11 Shigatse  Lhasa
